Plastic is a real problem, we all know it, and plastic cutlery is probably one of the worst types of plastic waste there can be. They break easily, they can be a bit dangerous and they’re just annoying to use. At Bali Boo we decided we had to help our customers with a proper, high-end solution, and that is how we came up with these Reusable Wooden Cutlery Sets.

Made from Sono wood, a fast-growing tropical tree that is cultivated in Indonesia, our Spoon and Fork are durable, beautiful, and they feel really good to eat from too!

Our reusable wooden cutlery sets come in pairs. We decided to put 2 sets in one small box so you can stop feeling bad for the person sitting next to you as they eat their food with a crappy plastic cutlery set. They both come in our famous signature Pineapple cotton bag, so you can take them with you wherever you go and be the star of the meal!

Both of the Reusable Cutlery Sets include 2 Bamboo Straws of 15cm, which are perfect for short glasses, be it of water, rosé or that “oh-so-loved” sundowner cocktail.  Each set also includes a small cleaning brush so you can keep them nice and clean without having to worry too much about it!

About our Reusable Wooden Cutlery sets:

The Fork and Spoon of our Reusable Wooden Cutlery sets are made of Sono Wood. This wood is sustainably grown in central Bali and is normally used by local artisans to make handicrafts, Jewelry, and even furniture. Sono Wood also has a unique scent, which will fade away as soon as you wash it once or twice. Our fork and spoon are made completely by hand here in Bali. Every Spoon and Fork is completely unique with its own markings, knots, and even color shades.

A single Sono Wood tree can grow up to 40m in a relatively short amount of time, and with one single tree we can make hundreds of thousands of cutlery sets, so you can be sure we’re not hurting the ecosystem. On top of that, the wood we use is grown sustainably in farms, so no wildlife is harmed at all. We also don’t use any type of chemicals or varnishes, we just polish each cutlery set with some coconut oil so you can be sure they are 100% safe for consumption.

Our straws, of course, are made of Bamboo. They’re the same as our normal Bamboo Straws but with the only difference that they’re cut at 15cm long. We decided on this size just so you can enjoy your sundowners and so you can have a bit of variety with your straws too!

  • Our Bamboo Straws are handmade in Bali and measure 15cm in length (5.9’’)

Care Instructions

The Bali Boo Reusable Cutlery set is made to handle the hustle and bustle of being used for every single meal, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take proper care of it. We do recommend you follow a couple of instructions to make sure your reusable cutlery set lasts as long as possible.

The first thing we recommend is that as soon as you receive your cutlery set you clean it with soap and water.  The reason is that Sono Wood has a peculiar scent to it and the wood can sometimes stain at first. After the movement and transportation of delivery, it is always recommended to clean them to remove the scent and any type of stains, which are in any case easily washed with water.

After washing them a couple of times, the natural water-repellency might wear down, so we do recommend polishing them with coconut oil or olive oil to keep them nice and shiny.

As with any natural product, mostly those made from wood, we don’t recommend putting them in the dishwasher, instead, we recommend washing them by hand with lukewarm water and soap, this will ensure your reusable wooden cutlery sets will last for a very long time.
